Youth Inpatient Program

The program runs over for a period of five weeks. Admittance is on a Tuesday and on scheduled dates. 

All youths and their parents/legal guardians must report at the centre at 10:00 on the day of admittance.

Target Group

Boys between the ages of 13 and 18 years. Boys aged 17-18 who do not attend school will be evaluated to determine whether they are suited for the Youth Program.

  • A maximum of 20 youths can be admitted per cycle.
  • Application through completion of Toevlug Youth Program Application Form. 
  • Completed applications can be posted, faxed or e-mailed to the centre.

A date of admittance will be provided once applications have been approved.

Criteria for admittance

Youths applying may not have any court cases pending. 
The Centre accepts youths of all religions.

Model/staff

A team comprising of Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Social workers, Pastoral workers, Medical and additional staff work together to take care of the needs of the youths. The program has been developed specifically for the adolescent with a substance abuse problem.

The Youth Program is based on the cognitive behavioural model of therapy.
Medical staff members are on duty 24 hours a day and a therapist is on call 24 hours a day.
